US H or 5 mm Crochet Hook
US K or 6.5 mm Crochet Hook
50-100 yards of #4 ply Worsted Weight Yarn
Scissors
Tapestry Needle

Small = 4” x 5”

Abbreviations/Stitches Used:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sp = space
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
sc2tog = single crochet 2 together
sc3tog = single crochet 3 together
rep = repeat

Special Stitches:
sc2tog – decrease over 2 stitches
sc3tog – decrease over 3 stitches
Shell – (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in same space

Notes:

R2: ch 3, dc in same st. 2 dc in each st around. sl st in 1st st to join. (16 dc)

R3: (ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same st, sc in next st, *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the next st, sc in next st rep from * around. sl st in 1st st to join. (8 Shells)

R4: sl st over to ch-1 sp. ch 1, sc in same sp *ch 6, sc in next ch-1 sp. rep from * around. sl st into 1st st to join. (8 ch-6 sp)
