Annie is our 1st rescue dog. Annie has been just the most loving, cheeky, independent bundle of energy to come into our home. And she is the inspiration for the Annie Bandana.
August 3rd – Raleigh Dog Blanket from MadameStitch
This blanket is named after one of my son’s rescue dogs. Raleigh was the perfect companion and such a special part of his family. She recently passed away and I’ve dedicated this beautiful blanket to her memory.
Along with outgrowing his pug puppy sweater, he has also outgrown the cardboard box he claimed as his bed the day we brought him home. I got a bigger cardboard box and some fleece I had in my fabric bin and made him a new bed. Now he never wants to leave it!
Imagine a cute little Axolotl aka the Mexican walking fish shaped like a donut. This is a beginner friendly amigurumi crochet pattern with easy step-by-step picture crochet tutorials.
August 6th – Sweet Pea Dog Sweater from TimmelCrochet
The Sweet Pea Dog Sweater has that and more with its soft and stylish faux fur trim. Made with little dogs in mind, this sweater keeps them comfortable all through the chilly seasons.
Today I am delighted to present the Puppy Placemat pattern. You probably know that I am a long-time small doggy Momma. I had a pack of 3 Shih Tzus for many years. Biscuit was my first puppy; he lived from 2006-2022 and was bossy and hilarious. Bonzai lived from 2007-2021 and was derpy and very loving. Lucy was our “baby dog” and lived from 2011-2023. She was our most well-behaved and kept us laughing every day.
For crafters, the lion is a common theme and so much fun to make. I recently made a Lion Toy for my pug Bruno. He loves to play tug of war, so I added a handle to the bottom of a lion to make his favorite game easier on me.
Does your cat/pet like to swat or throw things around the house? Do they like to curl up on your laptop while you are writing a blog post? lol Do they like curl up on your clothes, your current WIPs, clothes or anything else of yours they can find? Then this is purr-fect for any pet to play with or even cuddle up with.
I designed the Lumina Bandana, this crochet dog bandana pattern, for my rescue pup and it comes in 6 sizes so you can make one for yours or make a bunch to donate to dog shelters, too!
This sweet little amigurumi dog pattern was inspired by my parents’ Cocker Spaniel and just like him, Dusty is a very playful and loving companion who is always there for you.
Meet “Nellie” … the newest addition to our family. We rescued her from a shelter about a month ago and she’s already stolen our hearts!
Nellie’s wearing the “Imagination Pet Bandana” that I designed the day I found out we were accepted to become her new family!
My son loves anything to do with Norse History, this is why he named his dog Freyja. Ever since she was a puppy I loved to make things for here and dress her up, my son even started asking me to make things for her. lol So I decided to design something that relates to Nordic History and Freyja’s name.
August 18th – Heart Stealer Pet Blanket from Vivacrochet
Our cats are our kids! Nay, strike that! they are our grand kids!!!! We thought we were dog people until the cats decided to adopt us!! It all started one October morning some 9 years ago , when our community cat decided to have her litter in our garden! We were their servants!
This Crosshell Granny Bandana has 3 sizes to choose from. The crochet pattern uses a combination of the Granny Stitch and the Cross Stitch. The elegant bandana is finished with a beautiful edging.
August 21st – Busy Bee Hua Headwarmer from TimmelCrochet
Do you want to keep your chihuahua(small dog) warm and have fun at the same time? Or give a fun dog gift to a loved one or friend? Then this pattern is for you. Stripes, antennae, wings. This Busy Bee Hua Headwarmers has it all.
Pets can seem like part of the family. My son rescued some kittens from his job site and called me upset, asking if I wanted a kitten. I was hesitant, but as soon as he took her out of his jacket, softy that I am, it was all over for me. lol
Batty was my bestie’s (@cherumanalil) furry baby. He was the most patient pup (though his mumma said otherwise sometimes), amazing with my bratty human kids.
Thank you all so much for supporting these fantastic designers. They shared their heartfelt and stories behind the designs for why they designed their crochet patterns that they added in the Pet Appreciation Blog Hop!
Let the crochet designers know how much you appreciated their stories and designs as we all celebrated our love and appreciation for our pets. You will find the links for each designer listed above their patterns.
